Vintage large African kente Ashanti hand woven cloth 120' X 80" African Art Deco
Original authentic Antique (1900) Ashanti kente cloth from Ghana made of cotton and silk. This is a " Men size " cloth and measures approximately 120 by 80 inches and it can cover a king or queen-size bed. Ashanti ( Ghana -Ashanti Region ) Kente is a Ceremonial cloth that is handwoven on a horizontal treadle loom and put together by hand. A real piece of Authentic African art. Great condition, considered the most labor-intensive textile originally for the king. Photos are actual representations of the listing. Note: most of our pieces have spent decades at least on two continents. A small split, scrapes, cracks, and smell are a normal part of their patina attesting to their age and extensive use. This does not constitute damage. As we examine each piece carefully when we receive it and report any damage in our listings.
